Abstract

We present a sequence of tasks, carried out in the 1st year of schooling, within the scope of Mathematics’ Curriculum of Basic Education (Canavarro et al., 2021). In an integrated way, mathematical knowledge related to positional value and the development of computational thinking capacity were promoted. It is concluded that the students developed the five practices of computational thinking, with emphasis on the practice of algorithmics, and that these contributed to the development of mathematical knowledge.
