Abstract
This article presents the main results of an investigation carried out by the first author within the scope of the master's degree in Pre-school Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, carried out throughout the curricular unit Stage IV, at the institution Escola Superior de Educação de Setúbal . The study focuses on the exploration of spaces outside the school as a promoter of student learning, with the aim of understanding how carrying out activities outside of school contributes to their learning, motivation and participation . The study was developed following a qualitative approach, using participant observation, interviews and documentary research as information collection techniques. As main conclusions, it is highlighted that by carrying out activities before and after the study visit, in the classroom, and reconciling work in both places, learning becomes more meaningful and the student becomes more motivated and participative. throughout the learning process.
