Porque não se descreve a arte: reflexões a propósito de uma pesquisa sobre o Grupo Netos de Bandim
Main Article Content
Abstract
The performing arts are one of the relevant dimensions not only in the co-construction of identities but also in the ways in which communities reveal themselves and mobilise artistic practices for different processes of social and cultural inclusion.
In this context, the article presents a reflection based on the dissertation entitled Bandim—A Cultura em Movimento (Bandim—Culture in Motion), carried out as part of the Master's degree in Education, Artistic Practices and Inclusion in the School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.
In a style similar to an essay, the text reports on the empirical experience resulting from the research carried out within the framework of the relationship between the performing arts, education and social development in Guinea-Bissau. Starting from the point of view of art, its characteristics and foundations, the object of study is revealed in the panorama of the word "Culture".
Learning as a community experience opens up new ways of building knowledge, which are sculpted throughout the text. This article uses the arts and arts-based research as a tool for fieldwork, study and academic value. It describes a work process using metaphors that seek, between the lines, creative ways to recreate methods of conducting academic studies, with a focus on decolonisation, democratisation and accessibility to knowledge.
