Abstract
This article focuses on the theme of the didactic exploration of the school garden, in conjunction with the promotion of food literacy among primary education students, specifically in a 4th grade class. The presentation and discussion of data are centred on the results from questionnaire, interviews with students and participant observation. The results seem to show that students have learnt about food literacy, especially about caring for the garden and its benefits for healthy and sustainable eating; the life cycles of plants, through their exploration in a real context; and the development of science process skills such as observing, interpreting data, and communicating.
