Main Article Content
Abstract
The study presented aims to understand how kindergarten and nursery school children show aspects of the emergence of algebraic thinking in the context of activities with patterns. Children's activities with patterns, spontaneous or proposed by the preservice teacher, were analyzed. The results show that the children involved are able to describe, invent and continue a repetitive pattern and identify its repeating unit.
