Abstract
The present article stems from a reflection on the experience of pedagogical research intervention “Playing and Learning: exploring the potential of games in Primary Education”, developed within the context of the Supervised Teaching Practice of the Master’s Degree in Preschool Education and Teaching of the Primary Education. It is framed within a qualitative research paradigm and follows an approach of researching one’s own practice, using participant observation and documentary research and analysis as data collection strategies.
Thus, the aim is to describe and reflect on the use of games in an educational context. It is argued that games, besides promoting potential meaningful learning, are an intrinsic playful activity to human beings.
Finally, it is concluded that the results of this study show that through games, children interact and build their learning, with games being an essential tool in the teaching-learning process.
