Abstract
In this paper we aim to reflect on the transition process from kindergarten to compulsory education, placing the main focus on families. We will present different perspectives about this transition and, in parallel, we will reflect on the role assigned to families. We will also present different perspectives on how the transition is experienced by families and on the complexity of variables to consider in order to promote a positive and effective transition.
