Ensinar e aprender sobre as plantas: Atividades dinamizadas por futuros professores numa Biblioteca Municipal

Abstract
Plants are object of study throughout schooling, but the interest and knowledge of students in general, and children in particular, is more focused on animals. However, plants play a fundamental role in the balance of the biosphere and also at a social and economic levels. Based on a partnership between the Municipal Library of Setúbal and the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, to commemorate the World Science Day for Peace and Development, a set of practical activities are presented and discussed, centred on teaching and learning about plant biodiversity and implemented by future teachers in the context of initial training. The activities took place in different spaces of the Library with children from the 1st cycle of basic education and allowed the articulation between formal and non-formal education.
